Terms of Service

1. The deal

By signing up for Karibu, you agree to these terms. We agree to provide the service described on usekaribu.com. If we change anything material, we'll give 30 days notice via email + in-app banner.

2. Eligibility

• You're 18+ and have authority to bind your business.
• Your business is a legitimate tour operator, DMC, or related travel business.
• You will use Karibu to contact travel-industry professionals about legitimate business propositions — not to spam, harass, scam, or solicit anything illegal.

3. What you can do with Karibu

• Use the contacts we deliver for B2B outreach about your tour-operator services.
• Export your contact list once per day; keep exported data after cancellation.
• Invite teammates up to your tier limit (1 / 3 / 10 users).

4. What you can't do

• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Karibu's contact data to third parties.
• Use Karibu to send unsolicited consumer marketing, spam, phishing, malware, or anything fraudulent.
• Reverse-engineer our AI prompts, scrape our app, or attempt to extract our research database via the API or otherwise.
• Connect a mailbox you don't own or aren't authorised to send from.
• Ignore opt-out requests. When an agent says stop, you stop — that's also automated, but the obligation is yours.

5. Payment + cancellation

• 14-day free trial. After that, you're charged the tier price in your local currency.
• Monthly: cancel anytime, takes effect at period end.
• Annual prepay: non-refundable except during first 30 days, in which case we refund pro-rata.
• Failed payments: 3 retries over 7 days, then auto-downgrade to read-only.

6. The "Find Africa Agents or We Work Free" guarantee

If your first 25 contacts don't include at least 5 agents who already sell East Africa (per our internal verification), we'll deliver 25 more at no charge. If we fail twice in a row, we refund your most recent monthly charge.

7. Acceptable use of AI features

Intel briefs and AI drafts are generated by Claude (Anthropic). You're responsible for what you actually send. Our anti-hallucination validator catches obvious problems but is not perfect. Read drafts before sending them.

8. Service availability

We target 99.5% uptime. Status page at status.usekaribu.com. If we miss our SLO for 3 consecutive months, you can request a 1-month service credit.

9. Liability

We provide Karibu "as is." Maximum liability in any 12-month period equals the fees you paid us in the prior 12 months. We're not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or consequential damages — to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Termination

You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing. We can suspend or terminate your account for material breach (per Section 4), with 7 days notice except in cases of fraud or abuse where immediate termination applies.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. Disputes will be resolved in Kampala courts unless local law dictates otherwise.
