Why you need this
When a travel agent in Chicago opens your email and the From address says founder@safarisbymary.com, their brain reads "real person from a real safari company". When it says noreply@karibu-sends.com, the same brain reads "another vendor pitch — archive". The single biggest lever on your reply rate is sending from your own address.
Gmail's OAuth flow is how we get permission to send mail as you without ever seeing your password or reading your inbox. The setup is fiddly because Google built the console for developers, not founders — that's what this walkthrough is for.
Before you start
You'll need all of these in front of you:
- A Google account you control (the one you want to send mail from)
- A phone or laptop you can switch back and forth between (we will show you screenshots)
- ~15 minutes of uninterrupted time
- Karibu open in another tab — keep this article visible the whole time
Step-by-step walkthrough
Tick each step as you go. Your progress is saved in this browser — you can close the tab and pick up later.
In a new tab, go to console.cloud.google.com and sign in with the Google account you want to send mail from.
Use your business Google accountSign in with the same Gmail address you plan to send outreach from (e.g.you@yoursafarico.com) — not a personal address.Screenshot reference: Cloud Console landing page with the blue project selector top-left
