Karibu is a sales agent for African tour operators. Every day it finds US and EU travel agents who could sell your trips, researches each one, and drafts outreach in your voice — so the work of finding and warming up buyers happens whether or not you sit down at your desk. The agent is named Duma, and most of this documentation is about telling Duma what you want and deciding how much it may do on its own.
What Duma does each day
- Finds contacts. From a plain-English description of your ideal buyer, Duma discovers travel agents from multiple public sources and cross-references them before they reach you.
- Verifies & briefs. Each contact passes verification checks and arrives with a six-section AI intel brief: what they sell, who decides, and which hooks are likely to land — every claim anchored to a citation.
- Drafts outreach. Duma writes the first email (a “cold opener”) in your voice, using the brief plus your company profile.
- Handles replies. When someone answers, Duma classifies the reply and can draft a response — held for your approval or, if you allow it, sent for you.
- Reports back. Each morning you get a brief of what happened overnight and exactly what needs your approval today.
Safe by default
This is the single most important idea in the product: Duma drafts by default and sends only when you let it. Two separate dials control how far it can go on its own — one for cold openers, one for replies — and both ship in their safest position. Nothing leaves your account until you either approve it or deliberately turn a dial up.
Who does what
Karibu has role tiers — from a single owner running everything on a phone to a team with a manager and members. Billing and destructive actions belong to the owner; day-to-day outreach and approvals are open to members. Capability flags and tier gates are enforced on the server, so the interface you see always matches what you are actually allowed to do.
