The review queue

How the review queue works — and why approving a draft enrols the contact into a cadence rather than sending an email synchronously.

The review queue is where drafts wait for your decision. When your cold-opener dial is on review (the default) or your reply autopilot is on review / plan, everything Duma writes lands here instead of going out. It is the human checkpoint that makes “safe by default” real.

Approve does not mean send-now

This is the part worth understanding. Approving a cold opener does not fire an email the instant you click. Instead, approval:

  1. marks the draft approved (with any edits you made), then
  2. enrols the contact into Duma’s outreach cadence, and
  3. lets the cadence’s day-0 step deliver the approved message on its own schedule — subject to the usual guardrails (send windows, mailbox caps, suppression).
Why approve-then-enrol?
Because outreach is a cadence, not a one-off. Enrolling the contact means the follow-ups are already lined up, and the send goes through the same deliverability machinery as everything else — so a hand-approved opener is throttled and windowed exactly like an automated one. Each contact has at most one active cadence, so a double-click can’t double-enrol.

Edit before you approve

You can edit a draft in the queue before approving. Your edits ship with the message — and they’re captured as a learning signal: the gap between what Duma drafted and what you approved is one of the strongest hints it gets about your preferences, so drafts drift toward your style the more you correct them.

Safe to click twice

Only a pending draft can be approved. If it’s already been approved, enrolled, sent, or rejected, acting on it again is a no-op — the queue tells you it was already handled rather than doing anything twice.

Open it
Your queue is at /review. Reply drafts held by autopilot appear alongside cold openers there and in the relevant inbox conversation.
